Assemblage Art "Open Up"
Whimsical assemblage art piece made with vintage doll head, found objects and resin castings
This piece of assemblage art comes from my slightly unhinged imagination. I have a love of baby heads and a fascination with the bizarre, absurd and whimsical.
The box is a rescued Crayola box decorated on the inside with illustrated pages from a 1980’s Gray’s Anatomy. The outside of the box is painted and embellished with a paint inlay called Ditsy Blooms which reminds me of dollhouse wallpaper. The base is a piece from an old lamp. The three butterflies (butterflies in the stomach) I casted in resin and hand painted. The hearts are a mix of hand painted resin pieces and found junk. The arms are pieces of hardware and rescued doll arms (one hand is missing the thumb). The neck piece is part of an old clock I purchased sometime in the early 90’s in Germany.
It measures approximately 16” tall
